Our Pastor and First Lady
Senior Pastor Clernest G. Moore
Pastor Moore was raised near Hollandale, MS. and graduated from Greenville H.S. After living and serving as an associate minister in Detroit for many years (where he met and married Renee), God led him to return to the Delta and begin ministering primarily to young people.
For 14 years, he served as pastor for St. Mark Methodist Church in Cleveland. For 18 years, he has served as Executive Director of Nu Delta Ministries, Inc. which he co-founded. From 1996-98, he was also the first Youth Programs Director at Delta Health Center in Mound Bayou, MS. He is a former Executive Council member, Commissioner, and Scout Master, with the Boy Scouts of America. He is also a licensed athletic coach and has served as chaplain for the East Side football team (at the request of the players). He has worked in the Cleveland School District in various roles, primarily with special education and at-risk youth.
Rev. Moore holds several degrees including: Associate in Urban Ministry, Bachelor of Science in paralegal studies; Master of Divinity (with emphasis in Counseling and Crisis Therapy), and Doctor of Divinity. He is also a Certified Christian Counselor.
First Lady, Elder Renee Moore
A native of Detroit, Sis. Moore was a freelance journalist for 10 years before moving to the Mississippi Delta with her husband. She returned to college to complete her B.S. in English Education at Delta State University and earned a Master of Arts from the Bread Loaf School of English at Middlebury College in Vermont. In 2010, Sis. Moore earned a Bachelor of Biblical Studies from Exodus School of the Bible in Cleveland, MS.
Sis. Moore taught English and journalism for over 30 years. In 2001, she was Mississippi's Teacher of the Year. She also received the $25,000 Milken Educator Award. In August of 2005, she became an English instructor at Mississippi Delta Community College, until she retired as chairperson of the English Division.
Sis. Moore has received numerous awards and grants for her work in education, and her writings have been published in over 25 professional books and journals.
In 2015, she was ordained an elder at Living Faith FG Baptist Church, and in 2018 she graduated from the College of Ordained Elders of the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International. Elder Moore also serves as the Director of Christian Education.
