Who We Are
Ministering to Youth and Families in the Mississippi Delta
Our work here began in 1987 sponsoring youth Bible clubs. The name Nu Delta Ministries was adopted and soon, Nu Delta had chapters in schools and communities. Through Nu Delta young people engaged in many creative communicative arts projects promoting healthy lifestyles, leadership, and character development.
In 1993, Nu Delta sponsored an area-wide forum on gangs and violence, inviting members of various gangs operating in the county. Rev. Moore and Nu Delta gained the respect and trust of a segment of our youth who had been dangerously ignored.
Organizing the Church
The founding members of our church were the families of youth who had been part of Nu Delta, and some of the former members who now had families of their own. By 2004, Nu Delta moved to Chrisman Street in Cleveland, where Living Faith Baptist Church began holding its first worship services and Bible studies. Living Faith moved into its current, larger location in January of 2017.
Moving Forward
Today, the tradition of youth work continues at Living Faith through our Young Scholars and events it sponsors. We are also covenant partners with the Full Gospel Baptist Church Fellowship International.
Pastor Moore continues to challenge us with the vision of this church:
"We are here to lessen or limit the spirit of darkness and poverty in the Mississippi Delta. We are here to save the lost. We are here to equip the saints. We are here to deliver the oppressed. Let us put on the armor of light (Rom. 13:12-14). We preach, teach, and heal here."
Mending inner-brokeness through the Word and ministry of Jesus Christ!
Everyone is welcome!
We embrace all persons just the way they are, with the hope that they accept the teachings of Jesus Christ and allow Him to transform them on a journey of deliverance and inner-healing (Jeremiah 29:11/ Romans 12:2).
